Free spirit, For car insurance the fastest way to get a free quote is do a policy comparison. If you choose the same coverage levels, you can get an quick quote to compare against others. Use the same zip code, auto make and model, mileage and driving history to ensure you get an apples to apples comparison. To get mulitple auto quotes, go to http://www.multipleautoinsurancequotes.com and you can compare all the major auto insurance companies.

You have to have some of these Qualifications: good 5 year driving record, keep car garaged, alarm system, anti lock brakes, etc. basically things that show your car will be protected from you and others to be honest. Good Luck!

ps. i would go with geico if i were you. There awesome and cheap!

Being a homeowner gets you a discount as well as having a clean safe record.

There are a lot of discounts such as "good student discount" (3.0 GPA or higher), non-smoker, multiple cars insured, no recent tickets or accidents, and even if you took some driving classes.

You’ll want to get an accredited car alarm – there are certain brands/models of car alarm which get you significant reduction in premiums. I do it for each car I get these days as a matter of course. Well worth it.

I have heard that some auto insurers actually give some reductions in premiums if you remove some of the high performance upgrades (eg like a chip to give more horsepower from engine), but I suppose that just comes down to the overall power of the car – which is usually a factor in premiums.

You also want to shop around – most of the advertised companies in my area cost a LOT more than most of the quotes I got from this free quotes site I found. I ended up going with one of the ones I got quoted, save myself about $800 :) I’ll need that for gas these days!!

Be considered a Good Student 3.0 GPA: Safe Driver Discount; Multiple Policies; Multiple Driver; Be a Veteran; Age;. But this may not apply to all insurance companies. Shop around that no name insurance company may be just as good as Progressive but a lot less. Because they don’t pay for all the advertising. Also check FICO score the higher it is the cheaper the insurance. Get rid of useless extra coverages. Example rental car if you have an extra car drive that one until you get yours fixed. Increase deductibles and lower bodily injury coverage, which your health insurance will usually pick up.

best advice is to look around. shop in person, do NOT shop on the internet. the internet sites do not have your best interests in mind. check with the largest companies. they did not get big by charging too much or giving bad service. State Farm probably will give you the best rates if you have a clean driving record. be honest when you shop, all companies check on you and rates are based on driving records and discounts that you are eligible for. 36 years exp.
